Abchurch to help convey Biotica messaging to potential partners

Abchurch preps Biotica for meeting the media

Abchurch has been recruited by Biotica, a Cambridge based Biotechnology Company that discovers and develops polyketide therapeutics, to provide media relations advice to assist the initiation of their business development programme for the lead drug candidate from their Hepatitis C programme.

Biotica, a specialist in polyketide therapeutics, has discovered, developed, and patented a new class of cyclophilin inhibiting compounds specifically designed to treat Hepatitis C virus infection, and other cyclophilin-dependent viruses. Biotica has now selected a drug candidate that stands out as having the ideal characteristics for a novel drug to treat Hepatitis C virus, and eliminate the virus from infected patients. The chosen candidate is suitable for once-a-day oral administration, has an exceptionally high barrier to selection of resistance, is highly potent across viral genotypes, and has appropriate properties for combination with other HCV medicines. The compound is expected to be a key component in a combination therapy, with the possibility of interferon-free regimens.
