Abchurch wins online fashion retailer
Abchurch has won the corporate PR and financial PR remit for BrandAlley, a leader in private sales online. Abchurch Communications has been appointed to provide corporate PR support as BrandAlley looks to raise up to €100 million (£87 million) to acquire smaller operators in the sector.
BrandAlley, founded in 2005, is the dominant site of private sales in the UK and the second biggest in France. The Company offers sales of up to 70% on designer clothes, accessories and homeware to its 2.5 million registered members in the UK.
In the past few years, as high street retailers battle the recession, private sales sites such as BrandAlley have reported rapid growth, as consumers favour the highly discounted prices offered by these sites on luxury goods.
Henry Harrison-Topham, Managing Director of Abchurch, commented: “Private Sales are at the cutting edge of the online retail spectrum and we are delighted to be not only working with one of the pioneers of this format but also the dominant player in the UK market who saw their revenues increase by 64% over the last year. In recent weeks we have seen some of the largest global online retailers enter this space in an effort to increase their traffic and attract new members.
